In December 2022, Netflix will release After Ever Happy, the fourth installment in the After series of teen romance films, in the US and other countries. The After movies, which are adaptations of Anna Todd’s novels, have been heavily criticized for their poor scripting and, at times, lousy acting. Despite this, they are lucrative and beloved around the world. Following the three films that have been released each year since 2019, a fourth film will hit theaters on September 7, 2022 and had its world premiere in London in August 2022.
Castille Landon has hinted that he could have more projects besides a fourth film as he told Variety in August 2021, “I’m working on other projects in the ‘After’ universe and I’ll keep it ambiguous.” Since then, a fifth film has been officially announced and is now in production. Its working title is After Everything. The film’s US distributor, Voltage Pictures, distributes it to Netflix as a licensed title in some areas and as an original in others.
